Talk Therapy

Talk therapy is the act of engaging in conversation with your therapist to process through whatever is happening in your life. This can be done individually, with partners in a relationship dynamic, or even as a family. Topics for talk therapy can range from anxiety to depression, exploring gender or sexuality, to processing trauma. Your therapist is here to listen, provide feedback, insight, and tools to help you cope through difficult situations and, ultimately, live your most fulfilling life.

EMDR

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) is a form of trauma therapy that can allow clients to process and heal from traumas they have experienced by engaging with the body’s natural healing tools. By utilizing a form of bilateral stimulation (think of tapping back-and-forth on your legs or following a dot moving left to right with your eyes), your therapist will guide you through a process that will allow your brain to take painful memories and make them become less intense. EMDR can be utilized with trauma, anxiety, depression, and even phobias.

Art Therapy

Art Therapy is a mode of therapy that combines creative expression with talk therapy. Some clients find that when engaging in the creative process in a therapeutic setting, they can gain a level of depth that they cannot achieve through talk therapy alone. Art therapy can help clients reflect on a deeper level, see things from a different perspective, and can even bring metaphors and symbolism into the therapeutic process. Your therapist will help guide you through different creative directives and reflect with you on what you have created.

Gender-Affirming Letter Writing

Looking to start gender-affirming hormone therapy or pursue gender-affirming surgery? This process can be incredibly exciting and confusing. We are here to help manage the red tape of these procedures by offering letter writing services to people pro bono. Your therapist will meet with you to get an understanding of your gender identity journey, mental health history, and then collaborate with you to write a letter that you can take back to your medical team. We offer this service to people even if they aren’t working with us in therapy as clients. We believe these services are important and we are honored to give back to the queer community by offering these services.
